We have officially been in business one month and it’s been fast and furious, but most of all fun. I have really enjoyed the new relationships I have made with our clients and potential clients. I have hired my first physician liaison in Lincoln, NE and am actively looking for a second one in Independence, MO. I am very lucky to have the expertise of Dr. Thompson on all things medical and Liz as a PR guru. We are having fun and learning a lot.

As an entrepreneur, I understand the pressures that a new doctor may feel. It can be scary to wonder “Will the patients come?”.  That is why I am such a believer in our business model and why I believe MedLaunch Solutions is the missing niche marketing answer. We can ease this stress and get a doctor the results they need.  In less than a month, we have two clients in three cities that are all excited to try this new and innovative approach. Relationship building is underway and we cannot wait to report out the results.

This week I want to share just a couple of tips and reminders to help an office manager or a doctor with their online presence. It can at times be an afterthought because patient care is always the priority.  However, in today’s world, the internet is how a patient learns about you. Whether it’s your website, social media or online reviews, your potential patients research you. It’s also a way to communicate with prospective and current patients.

First be sure your website is up to date and current.  Social media is a great way to use the content on your website.  Rotate it through your postings on a regular basis.  If you add something new to your website, that is fresh content for your social media too.  However, social media can also be a liability.  If it not visually appealing and not current, it can damage your hard-earned reputation.

Make it simple by having a staff person plan out each month.  If other timely topics come up, use that content and simply hold the ever-green content and use it when you need it.  Some businesses post 2-3 times daily but that is often tough for some.  As long as you post a few times a week, your page will look good.  If you notice something really catching on, you may even want to put some money behind that post.  Social advertising is cheap compared to traditional media buys.

It’s always a good idea to remind your staff on the do’s and don’ts of social media. Humor sometimes can backfire and cause more harm than good. You can also schedule out posts to make this less time consuming for you or your staff.  Good luck! 3, 2, 1…blastoff!
